Not sure which bike you have but since you're in the touring section of the forum, I'll assume you have a touring bike. remove your seat and if applicable the battery cover (If the bike is new enough) . You may also have to remove the battery depending on model. You should find a connector with 4 wires that isn't plugged into anything. Pop the cap off if it has one and get your multimeter out. reconnect batter if possible. Ground the common probe and plug the other one , usually the red one into the contact for the orange wire. Turn acc switch on and off, if the voltage changes accordingly, yo have found the accessory plug.

The connection plug is under the seat in front of the battery, it's capped. It is only hot when the ignition is on as well as the accessory switch. There is another under there that is always hot but it doesn't have a switch. HD can sell you the correct plug end to plug into either of them.

Instructions are in the user manual, but...the manual for my 08 Ultra shows the WRONG plug.
It is under the seat and it does work, you just have to scratch around a bit to find it. As mentioned previously, HD sell a lead to connect.
Use a multimeter to figure the pins out if you are not comfortable with reading the electrical cct in the workshop manual.

I just recently connected some driving lights to the accessory switch on my '08 SG. I didn't want to run wires from the lights to the seat so I just tapped into the switch wiring. If I remember correctly to orange/red wire is the power supply to the switch, the orange wire is the switched power supply (what you would tie into for your power supply), and the black wire is the ground. I just cut the orange wire, crimped a connection on and plugged my power wire to my lights into that.
