Default PC-V install on an 08

Ok I am apparently missing something. Installing the PC-V on my 09 was simple. The 08 I'm not getting it. According to Jamie at FM it goes in the same way that the PCIII does. Under the right side cover. Well I can't for the life of me get the stock ECM harness to reach down far enough to make this possible. Any tips???

Don't you have ABS on your 105th? I'm surprised it would fit there.

He told me under the seat. Said it was as small as a pack of cigs, no problem.

I think you're right Dawg...I could've sworn the 105th has ABS. SO...it should go into the area of the battery...which I know from experience with mine that it can be a pain to fit right!

No ABS on mine. That may have just been the Ultra. It isn't the module I would have trouble placing under the seat. It is the plug. But should I be able to get the harness down to the right side cover???

On 2008 non ABS bike you can mount the PC-V and harness under the RH side cover, you will need to remove the battery to get the harness between the frame. As an alternative or if you have ABS brakes you will put the harness in front of the battery and mount the PC unit under the seat in the right rear near the inner fender. If anyone needs any help just give us a call and ask for tech support.

i had to hack my batt. cover a bit to get mine under the seat. it just takes a little patience to get the harness plug in front of the batt. its really snug in there. if you need a pic ill pull my seat off and take some. mine has abs though.

Well I got it under the right side cover finally. I just don't like forcing or putting strain on parts with wires and connectors.

I have a 08 SG it's a TIGHT fit no matter what. I removed the ecm tray and cut a thin pad to cover the battery and secured everything on top of the battery. The PC-V works great and keeps the bike really cool. I'm just not completely happy how it fits under the seat. I might be selling it and looking for a type of fuel managerment system.
