Default Wide tire on Street Glide

Has anyone put on a wide tire kit, 200mm or wider on the 2006 Street Glide. Considering it, but would like to know if anyone has done it and does it hamper performance and how big to go.....would like to go to 240mm if possible but cost issues will dictate.

Anything bigger than a 200mm will require extensive frame mods.

Why? One of the best things about the street glide is its handling. Why add sluggishness of a wider rear tire. Saw fat baggers at Myrtle beach. Nothing special and they were going 240s on the rear at $5000.00 a pop. Id rather pop that 5G into the motor instead of making my bike tuen like a tank. Besides that, for 5G you can barely see the rear tire on a bagger!!!!![sm=forgetit.gif]

Get a wider taildragger style fender. That'll make it look fatter. You wouldn't be able to see much of the tire regardless.
