Wow...some different styles of lifting are listed...

Mine is simple. Leave bike on side stand, slide J&S Jack under from the right side, pump the jack's foor pedal to lift the bike. No holding of grips, or brakes, or even touching of the bike is requiered.

As for working on the right side...with the J&S, its not in the way of doing anything..and no straps needed...EVER!

did I miss something? Which is the passenger side of the bike?

I have a J&S jack and I pick the bike up while it's resting on the kick stand. No wood blocks and no ajustments needed for an 09 RKC

That's the only thing BDP left out, hold onto the grip as she goes up. Its easy. Mine lets down sorta quick, but remember hold onto grip and she will be on the ground fast, now while you still holding it upright with one hand ( other hand had to twist jack handle) kick or pull jack out of the way, kick a leg over your girl and breath.

I've another question about jacking up a touring bike if the op dosen't mind.

Do the touring bikes require a adapter for the jack?

I remember when I was on the Dyna forum and the talk about the adapters that were required for using a jack.

TIA.
The adapters are for the Dyna's. One spot on the Dyna frame is lower than the other three points the jack touches.

Getting it up is never a problem....

Bringing it down however,is another matter..
With the jack on the right side, and the Jiffy stand on the left,I get real nervous setting it down alone.
Usually I call Mama for some assistance.

No worries. I position her up high using the Pitbul jack and get to work. No need to tie her down although I don't think she'd mind one bit. When I'm done, I let her down reeeeeal slow. She's happy and I'm happy. Then I have a smoke!
