Start by disconnecting neg terminal on battery. Finish by reconnecting negative terminal on battery. You are on your own in betwitch and between. Have fun.

Get yourself a set of ball end long shaft allen's for your 3/8 ratchet, and it's a piece of cake!

Received it yesterday. Can't wait to get it on but it will be some time until I recover completely from having a Pituitary Tumor removed.

Well I still have the chrome starter 31621-06A but it's going on my '09 Ultra Classic now.

Hey Shortride, can you lay it out for me blow by blow? Getting a chrome starter for my 2011 CVO Ultra and would like to save the dealer inst. fee plus I don't trust 'em to not scratch it somewhere.

I don't have to take off the exhaust. Did you have any probs with your install?

Also I'm not sure if I want to go with the HD chrome starter or something else 3rd party. Any ideas from anyone on that would be great and appreciated.

Update: Just found my service manual and it looks like a piece of cake, 2 bolts hold it on, a couple connections for wires, neg batt cable first of course, seems like it should be easy enough.
Curious where the ring dowels mentioned in the manual are since it says to be careful to not lose them. Must be in the flange when you remove the starter?
