IT DOES cost double... that's the kicker. They make them for pennies over there and charge you like it was made by American Skilled Tradesman... I was in Korea as well and purchased them there... I'm sure HD would want them controlled over there and these were probably black market jackets - so it looks like I unknowingly screwed everyone out of some change.
The point is not the cost of buying something that is a drop in the hat compared to our 10-30 thousand dollar bikes , the point is the long term costs of continually sending $ overseas for items that we can buy that our country makes. The it costs double argument falls on my deaf ears. I try to buy products that are made in USA as I am a citizen. I try to buy in my home town so that as much of the taxes collected stay where I live. I don't mail order to a 20% off mail order dealer, sorry I want my local HD dealer to make it and not go out of business. I understand there are times when all this is not possible but I do my best to keep my $ here where I have some chance of earning it back. Rant over.

It's hard to find anything (totally) manufactured in the USA anymore. Heck, even toothpicks are made in Korea...

Diamond Gusset Jeans are the only clothes that I have that are made in America. It's sad but we are becoming a nation of service industry. It seems we don't make much anymore - everything is going overseas.
I have a couple pairs of true religion jeans and one retails $216 and the other closer to $300, got them for $99 each at the nortstroms outlet, they had some crazy long inseem but my mom tailered them up for me, dont mind paying alil extra for good quality USA made stuff

Yep... all of my HD jackets (6 of them) were purchase from $60 to $120 (retail) in S. Korea. Pohang, Pusan, and Taegue. Some had the "Made in America" in them (If I remember correctly - that or "Made in Korea" and some didn't have it).
I'm guessing you're rubbing it in, that you paid a fraction of what we paid for the same jackets at our local store? At least you got a good deal, and paid what they are worth. And thanks for picking us up a few
If the MOCO was smart, they would introduce a line of apparel that was 100% made in USA. We are all dumb enough to pay $20,000 for our bikes and and another $10,000 in "upgrades" that are worth nothing at trade-in. What's the bid deal for paying a premium for American made goods?
Fox Creek Leather. Not expensive, but very nice. I was told they even use american made leather. Remember, that the stitching is only part of the process. Of course I can't personally vouch for the statement that the leather is Made in America. But I trust they are telling the truth. Then you can look up patches on the web and have them put on by a local shop.
