Pointy point missed above.

You don't have to have TBW grips just reuse the sleeve on the throttle side and you can use any grip you want and yes use the shim on the brake lever or you could snap off the brake light plunger switch without even knowing right away.

Better to use that tip and not need it. It cost nothing and takes 2 sec to do. Changing out that tit is a bit@h.

A few weeks later on a minor go-down that didn't cause any other real damage, that lever punctured his lung. We got him to the hospital before the punctured lung filled enough to crush the other one. But not by much.

I know they're an appearance statement, but I've been a little resistant to pointy parts on motorcycles ever since. Just me, no offense to others.......

I had never heard about the shim for the brake lever when I changed mine out. Lucky also I guess. Make sure you put on the throttle side grip first and try it out with all your gloves for comfort before you glue the clutch side grip in place. I put Kury Pilot Grips on and slid the throttle grip on and it was fine with my half gloves, but when I tried it with my winter gloves with gel pad palms it was very uncomfortable. I flipped the grip over and it was just right. Once the left grip is glued it cannot be adjusted. Also, the TBW grips are easy to change, especially when compared to the cable style. Changed my grips in less than 30 minutes including trying different gloves, took me almost an hour to change Wifey's with throttle cables... what a nightmare!!!

When I changed mine the housing was too close to the grip and when I would open the throttle the pressure from the housing wouldn't let it close fully, if that happens to you just loosen the bolts & wack the housing with a rubber mallet to give it some space.
