Default Good investment?

I have a chance to pick up a 97 Electra Glide with only 15,000 miles on it in near mint condition for $8200. I would have to put tires on it as the front tire is original and the rear is 5 years old but everything else is good as a new bike. I am thinking if I don't like it more than my Roadking I can resell it in the spring a make a little on it. What do you think? Would it be a good investment?

Only if you can find someone to pay more for it than you did. Who knows what the market will bear in 6 months

When you buying a car/bike there is no such thing as a good investment. Do you want it? Will you enjoy it?

I think I have sort of answered my own question but I thought I would throw it out there for comments. I rode the King again today and I don't think I want to give it up and I can't afford any more bikes so I think I will just keep it. I have too much time and money in it to get rid of it and don't think the Ultra would suit me as well anyway. I like my pull back bars and can ride all day without getting tired. Was just an idea but I guess not a good one. The Ultra would make someone a great bike but not me.

You made the right decision. If you liked the bike and wanted it to ride and enjoy, then buy it. But if buying as an "investment", then not such a good idea. IMO.

There seem to be a lot of low or no miles mid 90's Evo's for sale out there, back then there were waiting lists, Dealers selling at over MRSP and they were the "thing" to have in your garage. Ask some of these guy's now selling them how their "investment" panned out for them. JMHO.

No, just buy yourself a detachable fairing if that's what you want.

Todays market makes it impossible to find a good investment! It could be a great one or it could be the final nail in someones pocket book! Want it to ride, get it is my advise. As an investment ?

Sorry if piling on. We are looking to upgrade "her" bike because the used market is great for buyers and sh*t for sellers. Even so, whatever we buy could very fall further over the next year (in value), but we are doing it for a rider. Not an investment.
