Default Cam Cover Gasket replacement

As the title states, can I just remove and replace the cam cover gasket without having to do anything else?

thanks

Depends. What year's the bike? If you have stock exhaust with that blasted crossover you'll have to remove the whole shabang to get the cam cover off. Then you'll need new exhaust gaskets. You'll have to remove your right rider footboard too. I suggest tucking wax paper or aluminum foil between the case and the clutch cable and let it lay into a drain pan as some oil will come out.

ah why not just put the lost oil back in the thru the oil fill hole LOL. actually when I do this I run both tires on to a 2X4 and it leans far enough over when on the kickstand that I do not loose a drop of oil. I have a 2:1 exhaust and some Soos floor board extenders and do not have to remove either.
