Video of ignition switch removal
#191
Many thanks to you. I just changed my bars and this vid was really needed and worked perfectly. With this vid, the thread where a member shows how the Molex connector works to remove the pins to remove the handlebar wires and the one from LAChoppers that shows how to tilt the inner fairing to access the bar clamps, things worked out very well.
Cost me $139 bucks to remove old bars and put in another.
And it was done right.
Priceless.

Frickn Ignition Switch.....
I just wanted to personally Thank You.
I replaced my bars/clutch cable and other stuff. When putting back together, somehow I miss aligned the ignition switch.
After 2 hours of mess'n with it, I saw your video.
Went to the store, bought some tubing and all was good again.
Anyway, nice job and THANKS!!!

bump bump...
so we do not have to look for the video - WHICH IS GREAT!
I needed this one, as I got freaking stuck as well...
If you cannot get the fork lock to work when putting the ignition switch on again (I could not initially), the trick is to use "the tool" (I used a hand circular saw guide I had laying around LOL) and turn it to the lock position and PUSH in.
the switch does not allow you to do this as it will not go deep enough... I found out the hard way.
Now I know how it works, it is a breeze.... see if I can find some left over 1/4 inch copper tubing...
