Found the video before taking off my inner fairing this weekend, I'm sure I would have been pulling whatever hair on my head out had I not watched the video. Definitely a confidence booster for me. Thank You very much!

I just did this lock removal.
Made the tool, from 1/4" tube, once flattened out, it was too wide to fit keyhole or slot in the bottom.
Screwdriver worked fine.

97 FLHTCUI , maybe it's different that year, I dunno.

Still a very helpful video , thanks.

Awesome video, thanks for taking the time and sharing it. I drove myself crazy for about 2 hours when I pulled mine apart and it got out of "sync" while installing my bars. This will help a lot of people for sure. ;-)

I have a '14 Limited and put new bars on. The switch console below the ignition is slotted now and does not require the removal of the switch if you're just replacing bars.

Remove outer fairing, rotate the inner fairing forward and the switch plate can rock back against the tank. It worked for me.

Just leave it in the unlock spot, forward, push the little button up from underneath, then turn key to pop it off. When you're done, put it back in Never have to worry back it in, forward facing, push down, turn key and done...I've never had a problem

That was the last piece of the puzzle for me. I need to pick up a piece of 1/4 copper then. ;-) thanks
