Default Road King

I recently bought a Road King Classic, and a friend of mine was telling a male coworker that has a Harley about me getting it. He asked her what kind and she couldn't remember, so he asked was it a Road King. She said yes I think so, how did you know? His reply, because a lot of girls ride Road Kings. My first reaction was to say he was a jerk (ok worse than that) and didn't know what he was talking about. I pointed out that many women ride different Harleys, and it looked to me like the Softails were the most popular with women, although many of us ride touring bikes too. I was actually surprised that the Road King was his first guess. So I wondered, how do you guys that ride Road Kings feel about his remark?

My favorite Harley was my Road King. I think you are right he was just guessing, obviously never owned or ridden one. We now have an Ultra and that is so my wife will be more comfortable. The trade up was worth it to have her along. But the Road King was a super bike.

Are you sure he wasn't just playing with you to see if he could get a rise out of you ?

I don't ride a King, but would in a heartbeat. Great bike with classic, timeless styling.

As for the guy... he's a tool. Dismiss him from your thoughts, and go fire up the Roadking.

The guy who said that is an f'kin idiot...and it would be a waste of time and energy kicking his *** too.

By-the-way...welcome to the forum...and to the RK Classic family of owners.

Don't think I've ever seen a woman on a Road King. Kinda big/heavy bike for the avg woman.

If Harley wanted to make a 'girls bike' they'd call it a "Road Queen", so I think you are safe.

I ride a Road King.

I love seeing any woman on any Harley.

Sounds like he may have been challenged in his lower anatomy.

A lot of people are just Jerks. Guys and gals ride all models. I see women riding Ultras, RKs, Heritages, SGs, Low Riders.... all of them. I had an RK, never considered it a "girls bike" or a "guys bike". Just a great bike!

Now, it it's a pretty pink one, maybe that would be a "girls bike". Don't let people's comments influence or bother you. You hear all sorts. Some people will say fringe is a girly thing, some will say chaps are.... crap, if you listen to them, you'll know you are gay or worse..... just enjoy your bike. I sure liked mine!
