Default who makes the strongest drive belts?

I am going to do the 30 tooth trans pulley swap and will need to replace the final drive belt... Will be throwing down about 120RWHP, so what belt would you guys buy for something like this?

I believe the new belts are carbon fiber, the older belts were kevlar, carbon fiber should be the strongest you can get. By the way how many tooth is the stock belt & what do you have to go to with the 30 tooth?

I believe you are correct. Aramid, then Kevlar, now Carbon Fiber!

Interesting, I thought some manufactures were making better belts than offered by the Motor Co.. and I have heard of several people in the 120 squared area busting belts on their baggers.. Hmmm.. 145HP huh? I thought you needed a chain conversion by that point.

I believe it will require a 135 tooth belt...

Combined with my well balanced 113" engine, SE heavy comp, IDS etc. this should be one smooth riding bagger come Spring...

Boss Hoss, the V8-powered bikes, have used Gates belts for years. They now use the Gates Polychain carbon-fiber belt and their engines produce upward of 350 HP and 400 ft/lbs TQ. Gates supplied HD for years but I don't know who is making them for the Moco now, but I would venture to say that you are covered.

The stock belt on my RG has been fine @ over 150ft/lbs & lotsa wheelies.

I have no intention of changing it for my new 124 either.

The ones I've seen fail (and replaced) were due to improper adjustment and wimpy aftermarket pulleys that are subpar and end up with "sharp" edges on the teeth.
