Ok, here I leap into this fray... I am a syn guy. There, I said it. I just think it's better and more consistent than dino - as long as you use the right product...

I have used AMSoil 20W-50 (MCV I think it is...) everywhere for a couple of years. But I'm switching to Mobil 1 syn ATF for the primary, to improve neutral-finding - the 20W-50 is too thick in there I think. And I'm switching to 75W-140 syn gear lube for the tranny to hopefully smooth it out some. Sticking with syn 20W-50 in the engine.... just got some Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 at a good price at Autozone.

Bought a quart of Bel-Ray 20W-50 with some other stuff at a Yamaha dealer on the road last year, to have in the saddlebag in case of emergency on a long trip... paid $18 for one quart! Didn't realize it until after I looked at the receipt later. Never again... I guess they think that stuff is made of liquid gold...

You guys are cruel at times........ Pretty funny though!

He's got 3 posts as I see it so far, so I'll cut him some slack.

Lots of good brands to chose from. Amsoil, Mobil, Redline, Royal Purple...etc. All SAE approved.

Full Synthetic in the motor, Gear oil for the trans and your choice, Dino or ATF in the primary.

Kind of partial to the K&N filters as they have the nut on the end of the filter. No special wrench required.

I thought the oil just leaks out, then you add some when the engine is empty???
