Default Heated hand grip on FLHTK

I am considering the purchase of the 2010 FLHTK (Electra Glide Ultra Limited). It has the heated hand grips, my question is...
Is there any company that makes aftermarket grips that are compatible?

The stock rubber HD grips are not comfortable for me.

Look in the Harley Parts and Accessories, there are sevral types of heated hand grips.
There are after market ones out there but are not compatible.
If you want change them out { $hit can them } BMW makes a setup for heated hand grips that you can wire in, and they also make covers too.

One thing to keep in mind... There have been reports of dealer-installed heated grips failing prematurely, in some cases. The ones that come with the Limited are covered under a full 2-year warranty; I'm not sure if add-on stuff is. I'd get a clarification before you make the leap.

That is great advice!

Do a search on Heat Demons. Then you can use any grips you want. I put 'em on my '08 Ultra.

So I'm confused - I thought the grips were essentially modular. Wouldn't pulling the stock ones of the limited basically be close to starting over (short of the wiring?).

BTW - I do luv the grips. Definitely maximizing my riding.

When I questioned the dealer they said the only way to change them is to take them off and buy another set of heated grips that are to your liking for I don't know $250.00.
I think I will cover them with a leather sleeve.
You would think 30 grand for a bike they would atleast put on a set of good looking grips. I figure they had a bonch of the plain ones in a wharehouse somewhere and some genius say's I know how to get rid of them.

I'm going with Heat Demons, got them on order now. Seems like one of the best systems out there and it will heat through Kuryakyn's ISO grips. I want to put them on and not worry about them failing in a few weeks.
