Default Bad Advice

I finished cutting the push rods for my cam install and decided to take a break from the cam job and work on the rear shock lowering kit.

Well the member(s) who told me they used the LA Lowering Kit with their Ohlins shocks must not have the #2-3's because there is no way in hell the lowering kit will work with those shocks.

Another waste of $70+ dollars!!!!

Over the years I have learned not to take advice from anyone that hasn't done it.

This is kind of like buying parts at a Swap Meet ... The seller "absolutely guarantees that they'll fit your bike, that's exactly what they came off of " until you get home and uh oh!!

I don't trust anyone who hasn't done it themselves.

Not all of them have a clue what their talking either!

After many years of working on all shorts of mechanical stuff from kids toy to cars and motorcycles I find the following to be true:

1) "Universal" is Latin for "it's not gonna fit what you want it to fit".
2) Mix-n-match may work with clothes but never seems to work quite right for
mechanical anything.
3) Any advice taken off of a forum should be verified through other sources, twice.

And finally .......................................

4) Get a good job so you can afford to pay someone else to do it.

Just saying.

Why do you think Forums have Classified sections.
Put it up for sale in the classifieds. At least you'll get some beer money back.

I was told by a member here and one V-Twins Forum that they had Ohlins shocks & the LA Chooper Kit and everything fit fine. That's the only reason I went ahead and ordered it after researching the situation for a week.

Oh well, my loss, someones gain...

Does the shock lower interfere with the lowering bracket? Or is the issue something else?
