Default Whitewalls and brake cleaner

I have used everything from Westley's to Magic erasers and sos pads. Someone recently mentioned brake cleaner to whiten the whites. I have a bleed from the black where it flushes to the white around the entire front tire. I can get it clean but then it fades back in. Almost like a rusty dinge around the entire tire. Rest of the white looks perfect. Anyone tried brake cleaner and what were your results?? Thanks in advance, Jeff

It can dry out rubber, but if you followed with a rubber conditioner like Aerospace 202, that might work.

Try WD 40, then wash it off with a little soap and water. Not kidding.

Really liked the look of my wide whites but got rid of 'em cause they were such a pain to clean and keep white. Miss the look but I'm glad they're gone.
