Pinging w/ new Build

Pinging w/ new Build
I just had my 09 Ultra Classic modified with:
- 103 Big Bore
- 255 SE Cams
- SE A/C
- SE 2 into 2 Fatshotz slip ons
- Download but no Dyno
I rode for about 50 miles with no problems. Great increase in Torque and Power, everything that the dealer said it would be.
Filled it up with premium gas as I always have done.
Next 150 miles I now get pinging when on the highway at about 75 mph and 3000 rpm pulling up hills in Tennessee. I also noticed some pinging when excellerating from a stop in 2 and 3 gear with a load on it.
Can someone help with where to go with this? Back to the Dealer?

With the 255's and the cylinder pressure their super-early EPA-mandated intake closing event creates, the downloads just can't do enough to get rid of the preignition. If it CAN ping it WILL ping with those cams; a good tune will take care of it nonetheless. My heads have been cut .020 and with the 255's I could not get rid of the ping on a hot day when two-up; I ended up going to Andrews 31's. Bike is night and day faster, smoother, and happier now. I do not have experience with stock compression and 255's....many guys on here are running them and love 'em...

you should get it dyno tuned by someone who knows how to dial in your timing. if you're not using a pcv, sert, pciii, sest or some sort of tuner, i'd suggest getting one and then you can get your bike dialed in properly. if you're relying only on the stage 1 download, it's still too lean for your bike if it's pinging. good luck. get her fixed right so you can enjoy the riding this upcoming season. winter still sux, but spring is right around the corner. yoo hoo......
