I got my saddlebag secure from Brukus.com. It's simple to put on and it gives you peace of mind. I would check it out if I were you! No more dealing with the missing bag.

It's only $19.95. It's cheaper than running around and/or ordering the parts.

Picked up the U-nuts at Lowes for about $1.50 each. They didn't have any button head allen bolts so I'll have to run to Menards or Ace for those. I did a once over of my bike a couple weeks ago before my 1st ride of the year and found one of the twist locks laying in the bottom of the bag - I new I needed something to ensure I didn't loose them. This will do the trick, Thanx

saddlebag secure is a "locking" system, not just a "screw on" system

Got a quote from my local Harley dealer today for a replacement saddlebag of £473 or $709 and apparently that's just a single bag. I enquired if it came complete with the 15 virgins who must be hand stiching the bag, but apparently not

Interestingly the dealer advised me to try a warrenty claim, presumably because they did not sell me the bike though, and at that price I'll certainly give it a go.

Chicago 03 King: I'm liken that idea. I was just thinking if I could find some of those funny fasteners that wrap around the bracket, I'd have it made. Guess I'll see if the local Ace store knows what a u bolt is.

My bags are bolted on using nylock nuts and stainless bolts. Im liking the U nut idea though. I just might pick some up.

Almost happened to me a few years ago but I was fortunate to have bag rails...I replace the Harley fasteners with u-bolts from my local hardware store total cost less than $5 bucks, money well spent if you ask me.

From what I saw on the Brukus.com website it was the same concept at I posted but with a tamper torx screw rather than allen key. Are you referring to a different system?

I understand mine isn't the most secure system out there, but its going to take them 5 min to take the bags off, which would probably be enough to deter them. Later this year I might take the extra time to drill a hole and put a cotter pin in to make it more "theft resistant"

I use these:http://brukus.com/cgi-bin/p/awtp-pro...rts&item=35502

This way you know the bags are secure and they become tamper proof. Course if someone really wants them they will find a way........
