I rec'd the letter. Took bike to dealer and they replaced free of charge. 10,000 miles on tire. Also, replaced front rotors under warranty at same time.

Bought mine at the end of Feb 09. Today have just a hair over 12K on it. No issues with tires at all...same set is still on there and still in good shape. Run the back @ 42 and the front at 38.

I did not receive letter. Service tech at 10,000 mile service noticed cupping and uneven tire wear on my 09 Road King Classic front tire and replaced it as per Service Bulletin. Pappy USMC's post #8 above accurately summarizes the issues.

What were your rotors replace for?

I have a 2009 SG that I purchased brand new at the end of last July. My buddy has a 2009 RK that he purchased back in 2008. He told me to keep an eye out for my front tire cupping. He had issues with his D407 not too long after he purchased his back. But at that time that were not enough complaints to cover under warranty so he had to replace himself.

After a few thousand miles I was noticing the tire cupping and more road noise. It also felt like the front end was moving on me when taking some twisties a little harder than normal. By October I had 5800 miles on my bike. I started researching this forum and found a few threads on 09 touring D407 issues. So I went to the dealership and told them I just got back from a long ride and was concerned that the front tire cupping my be a safety issue. They acknowledged that there was an issue with the D407 front tires. Checked to see if they had a tire in stock and told me to bring the back in the following day and it would be replaced under warranty.

I have been told that if mention and concerns of safety then throws a bigger flag out with the issue. I was also told that I would be receiving a letter on the mail from the MOCO about this issue and to just disregard since I just had the tire replaced. I still have yet to receive any letter on this issue or the tank mount issue and have had both taken care of.

So if you are noticing more road noise than normal and you tire is cupping then I would go to your dealership and tell them that you are worried about your safety with the current tire condition.

They also never checked for any date code that I noticed. But did mention that it might have not been possible to replace after 10,000 miles on it.

I have the same problem with my 08 Ultra. My dealer is replacing both rotors under warranty. I have complained about the brakes for a while. All the techs kept telling me that it was the ABS, However, they did not ride the bike. I finally dial indicated the rotors and found them over the book limits in the service manual. The tech also rode the bike and reported the same jerking from the front brake that I have always complained about.

I have 09 Standard. The thing is, here in Michigan, the roads are so poor, that you can't tell if your tire is cupped.

My dealer replaced my front tire on my 09 Street Glide. I had no issues with it. 4300 miles. I had them store it for the winter and when I picked it up they had already replaced it. No Charge
