Default Difference between 103' and 110'

Besides the obvious of one is bigger. I have a 96' and cams to put in it. I was told that the indy shop here goes from the top down to put in the cams, meaning he doesn't like using adjustable push rods and going in from the side.. Well if he is going to have it all apart anyway, why not go for more work. What is involved with a 103' build compared to a 110' build. Am i even going to be able to do it? Again, I currently have a 96' with no other mod except slip ons, not even a stage 1 yet.

Thanks

With a 110 I would want to be splitting the cases and have the crank work done. I wouldn't go higher than a 107 on the stock 96 crank, and even then I would be worried about it, but that's just my opinion. A good 103 build with a complimentary cam and good tune would be a good choice if it were me.

the cost difference is a factor -- besides splitting the cases -- you can get a lot of performance out of a COMPLETE 107 kit T-Man, HQs, GMR, Hillside and a couple of others that will perform as well as, or better than a HD 110 kit--I am on my second 107 for a total 0f 30k + miles -- no crank work on two different bikes and no motor issues at all QUOTE=Lawdawg;6517537]Besides the obvious of one is bigger.
