07 to a Limited for $9000.00 ??
Went into my Dealer today as I normally do on a Friday morning to sell them quality tools to fix your bikes. However, this time I walked over to the owner who buys tools from me also...and politely said I got $6000.00 for that Limited and my bike. He said "Well I was going to do something else but I will do this first". About 45 min's later he said "how about $9000.00 and your bike". Well he knew like I knew that I meant $6000.00. So He talked about it by saying, "well you know it's an 07 ~ It doesn't have the TBW ~ Its the old frame style ~ Your picking one of the most popular bikes ~ Now if you wanted a straight Ultra then we could do that...
What do you guys think about that?
Those things he mentioned about the year of my bike I am not sure I am on board with those thoughts.
That price to me seems high...? I am not sure though.

Your bike looks pretty nice. Do you really like the Limited $9000 more than your bike? Honestly, if I were you, I'd sell yours yourself. I think it would be an easy sale. Have the dealership do a pass through on your paperwork to the new owner, and you will pay sales tax on the difference, just as if you'd traded it in. (assuming that your state only charges sales tax on the difference when you trade in).
With the new Limited, you'd just have to start doing performance work to get it up to where your bike is. So it woud be more like 11K or more on top of your bike.
To me that's an easy decision. (keep what you've got)

chances are that your 07 will run circles around the new limited. you'd do much better to keep what you got and just enjoy it. sure you don't have tbw, and you've got the old style frame. the frame you have has stood the test of time. the new one has only stood the test of a couple of years worth of riding, and of course their paint shaker type of simulated riding conditions. nine grand difference? wow, they're not very interested in selling you a limited. you already know what kind of price they'll put on your bike when they put it in the used section of the showroom, right? you've got a mighty nice bike which most guys would give their left nut to own. if you enjoy it, why not just keep what you got? i wouldn't trade in my 08 streetglide for anything they have, and mine will suck the headlight out of a cvo. tbw is nice but not essential by any means. i cannot afford to buy into each years newest gimmicks. stick with what ya got, just be happy man, you've got a wonderful harley right under ya.

The deal itself doesn't sound too bad, $24,500 minus $9000 is $15,500for your bike, it's not a killer deal, but it's pretty reasonable. It just depends on how bad you want a new bike, IMO a Limited is a better deal than a straight Ultra if you want the std ABS etc. The ball is in your court you can offer him less & see what he says.

Aren't those limiteds like $24k OTD? If so, they are giving you $15k For your 07 FLHTC.
I know you don't want to hear this but I was recently looking for a new(to me) bike to replace the 08 RG that was totaled 8/15/09 when lady ran stop sign. I gotta tell you, and I am sorry to be the one. You will never get another offer of $15k for your bike period. Maybe if you have $10k+ of desireable extras. but the prices on used bikes are rediculous in this economy. Lot of garage queen 07's out there forsale and &15k would be absolute top dollar.
Beat the guy down for something free, store credit, service(ESP), extended warranty or cash, he'll give up another $1k cuz he likes you. Those Limiteds sell fast dealers not wanting to deal on em much.
BTW, I picked up a beautiful 08 2200 mile RG w/ABS/tour pak(detachable)/Stage I and some other tasteful stuff for $13k, owned by HD dealer svc mgr. Had several 07/08's to choose from in this price range that were very nice. I was amazed at how prices had dropped during the seven months I wasn't watching while I was really effed up.
