My 12 was built after the recall. I hit a intermittent problem with it a few months ago at about 18,000 miles and it was the regulator. The dealer told me any time the engine light comes on while running it stores a code in the ECM that remains there through 40 cycles of starting/shut down. Said mine had like 12 of them stored, all pointing to regulator. BTW, it was just under warranty by 2 weeks, so it was free, but the bill charged back to HD said like $250.
