93 classic to ultra classic
Ok, First hello everyone I am a new member. I have a 93 flhtc that I would like to install a up to date ultra classic dash and fairing. What problems will I be facing? I like the 6 individual gauges and lower switches. Your help and expert opinion is appreciated.
Thank you ......

To get it to work on your 93, you'll have to search through the evo section, If I had the links I'd provide them, but seach on "fairing" , inner fairing, etc..
- in short - you'll need to by a inner and outer fairing, windshield and headlight with mounting brackets and trim rings for a 97' or above first.
Then you'll need to by the gauges and you'll have to wire the speedo , the turnsignals, indicator lights, Tach and handllebar controls into the existing harness, it is not plug and play , then you'll need address how to get a solution for the speedo to work if yours is cable driven... Plus you'll need to address the wiring for tunes...
It is all doable , it will take some parts, patience and the factory wiring diagram to make it happen , but folks have done it.

You need the complete fairing assembly, in other words everything you can see, plus the internal wiring, mounting brackets etc. If you can find the whole thing as a take-off that will be simplest. I tried the same thing many years ago, to upgrade my 1990 FLHS with an ultra fairing and found a bike the owner had chopped, so he was pleased to get rid of all the dresser parts he had taken off.
As already suggested it can be done, but only with a lot of determination and preferably not in the riding season! I gave up, because the problems of knitting together the wiring between my bike and the fairing electrics was too much for my liking. It meant cutting up my main harness which I was not prepared to do. You may have to do the same.
You could do with reading through a workshop manual for your own bike and another for a later bike, to get a measure of what is in front of you. It is unlikely to be a simple job, but one that requires quite a lot of work, even given all the parts you need.
