Question Street Glide rear fender ... Let's see it

Let me see what you did with your rear fender ?

I took the cheesey reflector off and there is a black plastic piece that I want to get rid of to clean it up? Any ideas?

Badge from an 08 (09-later does not have it) RoadGlide rear Fender ($9):

on 09:

on 07:

In the case of leaving the plate on the fender, if memory serves, you could position the emblem just far enough down so the plate does not cover the top of the emblem, but still covers the bolt head/dimple in the fender.

And In case it comes up, it covers a bolt head that holds a bracket to the underside of the fender. Its covered by the fender tip light on Ultras/Classics/Road Kings, etc.

Bad angle in this pic but I have the laydown license plate bracket from Kuryakyn:

It covers 2/3 of that black plug you mention and from a standing position you really can't see that 1/3 that is not covered.

As for how to get the black dot OFF the fender, I took a playing card, wedged it just a bit under the edge of the dot, (to protect the paint) took a small flat blade screw driver, slid that under the edge of the dot and on top of the card, gave it a slight twist, got the edge up a bit, slid the card/screwdriver a bit further in, (about 1/8"-3/16") another twist, she popped right off.

First tried heating it up, sawing it with dental floss and fishing line, etc, didn't budge.
