Default Fly By Wire Throttle Failures

How many have had this throttle fail, and put them into limp mode. And if so it an easy fix.
It has happened to me. Looking for information.

08 FLHTC

Thanks

FBW is new to me also. I would be interested in knowing just how it works and what to do if it "fails".

I have not had a failure yet and it seems that most of the failures I have heard about have been brought about by an install of different handlebars and/or internal wiring that was maybe not done carefully enough.

My 04 F-250 6.0 turbo Diesel has TBW and it's never given me any issue. Just shy of 1200 miles on the '10 FLHX and no problems either.

But from what I have read/heard about it's usually due to something being done to the throttle grip improperly or during a change to different bars.

My buddy has an 09 SG and he said that he was feeling a weird idling when he was recently riding and when he got to a restaurant and then when he started it on the way home it wouldn't idle well or throttle up (eventually went into limp mode). He did make it home after a bit of time but when he took it to the shop they said he broke a small plastic piece in the grips. They replaced and he seems to be ok now. Cheap plastic is not the way to go in something that could leave you stranded. I don't think this was a good move by HD but we will see how things go.

Just put in the new TBW sensor in the grip with no change STILL IN LIMP MODE and these codes

P0120 - P0123 - P0220 - P0223 - P1511 - P2135 - P2176.

If anyone can chime in with some help it would ne nice.

Thanks

No issues on my ultra I bought new on 2008 or my 09 Ford Fuzion.
BTW, I even replaces the grips and still no issues.
