Does it matter if the fluid in the transmission that I'm replacing with Redline is synthetic or conventional oil? Do I need to do anything other than simply drain the old fluid out before I add the Redline? i.e., Do I need to use something to flush out the old fluid before adding the Redline?

and it only holds 24 ounces, not a full quart. You may even find that a small amount gets dumped out the vent, even with just 24oz. If that happens, it's ok, just make sure it isn't a leak. I run mine about half way between the two lines on the dipstick, so it won't get pushed out the vent.

Thought the evos only had the trans plug there, the oil bag is under the side cover.

Six-speed transmissions require more transmission oil than the older five-speed transmissions. The drain plugs for the engine oil, the transmission, and the primary are all the same. They can be removed/installed with 5/8 inch socket or a 1/4 inch hex wrench. If the O-ring is pristeen, use it again. Otherwise, replace it.

Yeah! We feel like redheaded stepchildren anyway with our small gas tanks, old frames, etc.--and now this indignity of being left off the 6-speed list!
