Default 2017 Ultra Limited Weak Headlight

I have 17 Ultra Limited. I love everything about the new M8 design except the headlight(s). The Daymaker headlamp sucks. High beam is nothing more than small ball of light that does not light up the road as much as I would have liked. The beam was shining way to low so I adjusted the screw to raise the beam up. I screwed the adjusting screw all the way till it bottomed out, still barely high enough. Low beam shines to low as well. The passing lamps are "on" on the low beam position only. They do a good job but the light beams are a little to low as well. They need to be on with the high beam since the high beam by itself just don't get it. I wish I could throw down the coin to get the Clearwater Darla driving lights with the dimmer. 2000 lumens each!

Daymaker head lamp is rated at 1150 lumens on high beam and 750 on low beam. Don't know what the passing lamps are rated but they do a good job but they don't shine down the road very far.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

You can have the passing lamps on all the time take it back and have them change it.its in the programming my head light where low also after playing with them much better now.

Check the aim, with you and your normal gear on it. I bet it is improperly adjusted.

I have the 1st generation Daymaker headlight and my only dissatisfaction with it is the high beam. I don't know how the later generation Daymakers or the Daymaker reflector compares. Apparently the same.

If you have the top screw on the headlight turned all the way in and it's still not aimed high enough, you can adjust the lower screws out further and it will raise it more.

Flashing the spot lights to be on with the high beam is almost mandatory.

With the top screw turned all the way in you can loosen the bottom screw as suggested above. Also, loosen the screws on the left and right of the headlight. When adjusting mine I found both left and right screws were both turned in to far to allow the headlight beam to adjust up.

Hope that helps

Rode my 2017 Ultra Limited for the first time at night and the headlights really suck. When taking a tight curve at 30 mph, the beam is right on the ground in front. Passing lights need to stay on all the time. After the Flash update, are the lights acceptable or do they need replacing with a different type? I think so, even with them on there's still not enough light. This should be replaced on warranty.

I have the same complaint and will try this. I went to adjust mine with the top screw and it was already bottomed out... Other than that, I like the headlight. Have the same one on my SG and have no complaints
