Bought my first EVER Harley about a yr ago, coming off metric cruisers and sport tourers. It's a gas but it sure is a slug.....love the bagger look...rides and handles very well...

The Road Glide will be something you will really enjoy riding for I understand it is suppose to be the best riding Harley that they make.
I went from a 2005 Heritage Softail Classic to a 2010 StreetGlide and just bought a 2014 Candy Orange Ultra Classic Electra Glide this past September.
I have enjoyed the Ultra Classic, but looking to change the handlebars and the exhaust sometime this year.

First Bike - 2011 Road King Classic
Bought my first bike new 3 1/2 years ago - Vivid Black Road King Classic. I caught some **** for jumping straight in to that bike, but I had no question that's the one I wanted, so why bother with a smaller one only to trade in after a couple years.
Mostly just chrome / cosmetics so far, but I did swap the stock handlebars for 14.5" Apes. Between that and the Heel Raiser pegs, it's quite a comfortable ride. Going to have the seat custom modified next month and likely swap the pipes & air cleaner.
Also, just picked up a used 2003 Sporty - trying to get the wife to ride.

I went and had Mean City Cycles here in Maiden, NC do my seat custom of my stock Ultra Classic seat. I needed to be able to reach the ground completely flat footed and they removed some of the stock foam and replaced it with their memory foam. They can also move you forward or back based on your needs or comfort if you just want to add some padding to the lower back. If you are tall and have enough leg room they also can add memory foam to make it even more comfortable of a ride and also do the same for the passenger portion of the seat.
I am thinking of going with some BR Custom Bars and have them about 13 - 14" tall and made the same color (Candy Orange) as the bike.
I also would like to have some exhaust put on…….maybe Cary Faas Racing CFR or MGS Exhaust….with Vance and Hines True Duals.

I'm a newbe
First time HD owner, sort of. Anyway, been riding for years on Hondas. Bought the Rushmore '14 Road King. I love the way it rides, but despise the handlebars. Any suggestions for switching out the RK handlebars for a more cruiser bike lower feel. I'm not into 'ape hangers' and besides it makes my elbow hurt like hell. Anyway, thanks for any help or suggestions.

I rode a Suzuki GS500 in the early '90's, had a few year break, then to a Yamaha V-star in the early 2000's, and after a ~10 year layover, I picked up a Road King Classic. What a great ride, physically and visually. I also didn't want to do the 'upgrade' thing and decided to get what I wanted right out of the gate. Trying to keep my cool on extra's, but it's not going well. Figuring that I'll have an autotuner, intake and the set of SE pipes back on (dealer replaced with new OEM's) with a new set of end caps (fish tails or turn downs) before next riding season.
