Default Cruise control on 2002 Electra Glide Classic (carb)

The guy I purchsed my 2002 Electra Glide Classic (FLHTC) from told me I couldn't put a cruise control kit on it because it wasn't fuel injected. But I'm seeing the part below which says it should be possible. Does anyone have real life experience with this that might be able to assure me that it would work. I've been getting no response from my local "stealer". Was he misinformed or might there be some other thing with the bike that would prevent this? I do have old Harley MP3 player mounted on the right side handlebar. But that would just be a room for it issue I would imagine. My radio has an input that would allow me to scrap the Harley MP3 and then I could just use any portable MP3 player in it's place.

Harley-Davidson® Cruise Control Kit 77182-02
Part Number: 77182-02
Fits '02-'03 FLHT and FLHTC/I models.
Around $350+ on ebay.

update: The instruction sheet I found here (http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J01319.pdf) says it's not compatable with Screaming Eagle carbs. Hate to admit it but I have no clue if my carb is stock or not.

I have a 2000 carbed which WAS an EG, now a Roadie. I put cruise on it. I have the MP3 player, but I scrapped the cruise switch that came with the unit and went for the Ultra style one built into the RH handlebar switch. Has worked great for several years. Bought the unit new on ebay but don't remember the part no.

Sorry, had to run out and pick up a family member... I meant to say I DID have to drill a 1/16 hole in the throttle pin on the carb to secure the cruise cable. One year they had a pin end, the next they had a ball and socket. Anyway it was not a big deal.

I have cruise that works very well with the Carb on my 2004 EG standard. I would contact a local indy or another dealer for specifics on you bike.
