I reached to turn my volume up this evening and the damn **** was gone. All that was there was the flat bar it mounts on. Does anyone know if you can buy just the ****?

Joe......I think Dawg posted a part # a while back about this.
I'll give this a bump up to the top, in hopes others will chime
in for ya.

Mine came loose early last summer while on a ride....luckily I
caught it in time before it fell off. Shmooied some of my wife's
fingernail polish inside the plastic ****, and pushed it back on.

 

I should have a black one left over from when I changed mine out to chrome. Might even have a chrome one. They push on with a metal shim piece, I know I won't have that, but your welcome to whatever I can come up with tomorrow. I have some rear speaker issues to deal with tomorrow, so I'll do a search for the volume control **** as well. Let me have a look and I'll post back and if I find something. You can PM me an address or PO Box and I'll send it to you. Like the other poster said a drop of glue or nail polish would do in place of the shim. Just be a PITA to remove if you need to. I'll get back tomorrow night.

I looked for and found the remains of a kit I put in that didn't need volume control. It's chrome, says "AUDIO" + & - and according to instruction sheet the part # 71727-03. Haven't looked for the black ones I know I must have. If you want the chrome one and this is the type your looking for then it's yours. Sorry about the lousy cell pics.

Damn, finally got the email back from my local HD parts guru, and now I totally understand the hundred dollar, statement. $8.00 + tax for the little plastic **** and clip that holds it on. Man they do see you coming don't they...LOL

I should have an extra volume **** in a couple of weeks after I install all new chrome switch housing, levers, hand controls and buttons.

 

Yeah, same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and dawg hooked me up with the part number. He IS quite the dawg!
