Default How do I remove a Police solo seat

I just bought a 2008 Police Electra Glide and I want to remove the solo seat. Does anyone have directions on how to do this? I tried searching this but didn't come up with what I needed. Thank You.

Pull pin underneath rear of seat. Hinge it up, away from the air shock.

Remove two bolts that hold down the plastic, underseat faring. Remove faring.

Remove mounting bolts at seat front mounting plate. Remove seat.

Disconnect air shock air lines.

Remove air shock.

Remove rear radio rack/air regulator assembly from the bike.

Done. Just going from memory here, so pardon me if I missed something.

It's simple. Very simple. Just a few bolts here and there.

I appreciate your help guys. I read in a different thread that someone had to disconnect the battery for some reason, do I have to do anything with the battery? Is that an older model maybe? I appreciate all of your help. The seat is very comfortable but I just don't like the look of it, plus I have a 12 year old daughter that loves to ride with me. Thanks again.

I just did this a couple of months ago on my '06. As I recall I did have to pull the battery out to get access to the bolts under the air bag. Not a big deal. Certainly easier than replacing a car battery. I didn't even remember doing this untill you mentioned it. It is a comfortable seat, but a little tall for me.

Hauler,

Thanks. I knew there was something that someone had mentioned about the battery. That is another reason I want to change it as well, because of how hight it sits you. I'm 5'10" and I'm on my tippy toes at a stop light. I hate that feeling. Thank you again for your help.

You can add a passenger pillion for your daughter and still keep the Air seat. You just have to remove a little of the plastic from the plastic tray and add the correct bolts. Mustang makes a pillion just for the Police Bikes.

Dawg,

I tried to check my User CP to enable my PM's but couldn't find anywhere to do that. You can send me an email or info to dodk911@aol.com. I appreciate any help you can give me.
