I roll with this helmet currently:

However.....It does give mushroom head and am looking for a more lo-pro option. Very comfortable helmet though, and I like the patriotic flavor to it.

I picked up an HCI Polo carbon fiber helmet at a bike show. Cost about $60 or $70. It is the least "mushroom" helmet that I could find so far.

When I "lost" my ACC helmet I took my refund and bought a HD Hybrid. Comfy and not too bad mushroom wise. No worse than anyone else anyway. And it is LIGHT..

I have the HJC FS-2. I like it a lot but, the visor could be a little longer. New Enough has them on sale now. Here is the link if you're interested. http://www.newenough.com/street/clos...le_helmet.html

Ride safe,

Bob.

It takes some getting used to switching from a novelty to half helmet. I use the HD Tresspasser Helmet now. Kinda like the Stock Helmet but fit's better. Now the bugs that come over the top of the windshield and hits you above your glasses have no where to go. They get caught under the visor..LOL. The Tresspasser has been discontinued, but still available! They retail for 150.00 but I've seen several on ebay for 75.00

I've been using an HD Rally Rider. Comfortable enough but very mushroom like. Finally ordered a Z1R Nomad that arrived yesterday. Very, very comfortable and not as much mushroom head as the HD helmet. Very light...plus, there is an ear pad that covers the ears and has pockets built in for speakers. This cover is removable, it just zips right off.

I have always had problems finding a helmet that fits properly yet is comfortable. The Z1R fits the bill perfectly.
