Default Help - Want to make Street Glide louder

I have a 2010 Screaming Eagle Street Glide that is too quiet as stock. The Harley dealer tells me that they can make it loud by replacing the stock baffles with some after market ones. They are around $130 which I have no issue with. They also tell me I have to buy a performance software upgrade so the bike runs right. This costs another $400. Please send advice. Are they telling me straight? My friend says just put the baffles in and see how it runs, then decide on the program. From what I read you can do damage if you dont do some modification to the performance. Any advice is appreciated. BTW I am suposed to take the bike in tomorrow so need feedack asap... LOL THANKS

Talk to Jamie at Fuel moto or go buy yourself some BCT baffles (Big City Thunder). Heck maybe do both! You can easliy do the baffles yourself for little cost and a little time.

I added Bub 7s to my FLHX, and its pretty loud. Since you have dual pipes I would try the slip ons first to see if they provide the sound you want. As far as pipe selection, I would go to many dealers and listen to many pipes to see which ones you like, the bubs are pretty loud and not everyone likes them.

I also removed the stock header to reduce heat. So if you buy slipons, make sure you consider headers for a future mod.

Welcome to the forums...which color did you choose? I wish I could have convinced the wife to buy SE glide in spiced rum...

Can't go wrong with Thunderheaders. Either 2into1 or slipons, they both sound good!

Want it loud? Want it to rip? Add some Woods cams, a tuner and a Thunderheader. Period. Either get through your dealer or Fuel Moto.

Whatever you do, don't drink the D&D Fat Cat cool-aid...

Default louder

Get rid of the catalyst in the head pipe.I had Fuel-Moto (www.fuelmotousa.com) put their header pipe on with their mufflers and baffles. I think it sounds great. There are a lot of good products available as well as people who can set up your ride the way you want it. Shop around.
