I used it for years on my 2005 RKC. I saw HD's was made by Sun Oil and I figured Castrol is a better name then that and you don't have to pay for the HD mark-up.

From what I've read on this site, I'm planning on switching to Amsoil.

Search synthetic/conventional oils on this forum for PLENTY of opinions one way or the other...and everything in between. Most seem to like Amsoil.

I can't find Castrol V-twin local. I used it for years back in the racing days, good oil! After all the different oils I've tried, I'm switching back to Amsoil. Got it ordered now. I'm staying with Redline Shockproof Heavy in the tranny.

I use Mobil 1 V-twin because it is made just down the road in Beaumont, By God, South East Texas, and is sold at Wal-Mart. Though I did use Castrol, a very good oil.

How often do you all change your oil ?

Not for nothing but Castrol is part of the BP family if that makes a difference to you or anyone else.

Does your car filter fill up with metal particles? If your bike was producing that many shavings, I'd be surprised if you would even make it 1000 miles.

5000 is fine on an engine that is in good mechanical condition.

Just as an FYI...looks like Wally World is closing out the synth 20W50 Castrol oil for 4.50 a quart. pretty decent price for a synthetic..

I know this thread is a few months old...wondering if anyone has tried it since this post was originally made?
