Default Quick release for Helmets

Good day, Guys.

I've read a number of posts where riders have changed the "D" rings on their helmets to a quick release style fastener.
I'm just a little perplexed as I can't seemed to locate a "Quick Release" for helmets.
To those of you that have changed to this type of release; "Would you please send me either the product number or manufacture's web link?"
On a final note, I took the advice of many, and installed a "push button" fuel cover release.
Wow; what a great investment! Thanks for the recommendation!

I bought one about 15 years ago, and have used it on three different helmets....I love it! I got mine at a HONDA/HARLEY Dealership and don't have the mfg. name. Look on e-bay they have them.

Go to J&P website and do a search for these words Fast Hook for Helmets or Echo Quick Release Buckle (this one is metal) and you will get what you need.(Didn't put up link as I am not sure if it is against the rules here.)

Bought ours out of J&P catolog. Big Book 2010, page 92, upper left corner. Fast hook for helmets, item #132-660. $5.99. Works fine and we are satisfied. Advertised as DOT approved. Their phone number is as follows. 800-397-4844. You should be able to order one with this info and you will start to recieve the catalog if you don't already.

This is the one I use. It's a metal-to-metal connection. Easy to install and very secure. Better price than JP catalog and free shipping:

I had one on my last helmet, but ended up not putting on my new helmet when I replaced the old one.

Seemed like the quick release was more trouble than it was worth. A couple of times I thought I had it latched, but it really wasn't (would have been bad news in an accident), and it seems like it always was working itself loose and I had to tighten the straps.

I just went to E-bay did a search "quick release helmet" found several auctions and about 4 different styes. All for about $9 or $10 shipped. I use this one by Fasthook,

http://cgi.ebay.com/FAST-HOOK-MOTORC...item4150d3e8de

I've tried the one by Echo like the ones others have shown you, I just prefer this type. Easier to use with gloves on. Just a personal preferance. Cost about the same, do the same job, to each his own.
