Default Installing connection for heated clothing

I have an '06 RKC and I'm looking to get some heated clothing for the cold riding
season. What is involved in connecting the adapter on the clothing to the electrical
system? I read a lot in the archives on the heated clothing, but didn't see much
on this.

TIA,
Pete

Just remove your seat and wire the cable directly to the battery terminals. Do not use your charging pigtail -- it is fused and can't handle the current. Use a temperature controller for your clothes.

Pete,

Double check with the dealer or in your manuals for a connector that may be there. I may be wrong but I though all touring models already have a connector installed near the battery for just such accessories as your heated clothing.

FLRYDR,

Would this be the same connection the the Battery Tender would connect to?
Haven't used the Battery Tender yet, but I'm told there is a connection there
from the factory that allows you to plug the Battery Tender into.

All the HD heated gear come with detailed instructions as well as the necessary electrical connections. They hook directly to your battery, they are fused and have a pigtail designed for the clothing connector. You will need an optional temp control that hooks into the pigtail, then into your gear, HD has everything you need. I have my connection just off the left side at the front of the seat, so I can tuck it away in the summer.

DO NOT HOOK INTO THE BATTERY TENDER CONNECTION, it has a 3 amp fuse and not handle the heated gear current.

Go to www.powerletproducts.com

they have anything you would even need to hook up things to most any type of motorcycle.
