Front wheel bearing failure 2010

Ford what?
Have 180K on my '99 F150 with original bearings as far as I know. Not sure how that is relevant?

Well, I found this thread after doing a search on wheel bearings...just last week I noticed a hum and very slight vibration when cornering, louder in left turns than right. Thought it might have always done it but I never heard it until I installed my 'fangs' on the front forks...but after reading this thread, I'm pretty certain my bearings are ready to take a ****. Bike is a '13 SG with 14,000 that's never seen a pressure washer...time to get it to the dealer. If these damn things crap out every 14K, that's nucking futs...

Serious rear issue!
I bought a 2000 Road King Classic from a friend of mine that owns a reputable shop. He bought it a couple of months prior from the original lowner. He went through it mechanically and address cosmetic issues. He's ridden it, and I've been riding since I bought it. Everything has been great.
2 days ago I was going somewhere and I had her in N, clutch out and it took everything I had to get it to move down a mild incline. I even shifted into 1st and back to N but no change. Was like rear tire was flat. It wasn't. I left the house. Leaving my neighborhood taking a right at a stop sign, it felt like the rear wheel slid a bit like there was some sand (there wasn't) and then she recovered. A 1/10 of a mile down the straight road, I was at about 30 mph, I noticed a loss of power. I wasn't sure if it was in the transmission or if it was an engine issue. I was trying to pay attention to the bike, and as soon as the thought of pulling over entered my head, the rear end started drifting to my right quickly.the bike went down, I went off, and the bike slid about 30 ft and then caught and almost flipped all the way over. I wasn't hauling *** and there was nothing on the road. I'm ok, just scratched up. This weekend I'll start taking her apart but any suggestions on where to look? I was riding the day before with no problems at all...

You are right
I'm glad I own the 09 RK I do and can't imagine what Harley's 5 years from now are going to made like ... or where for that matter.
I don't necessarily blame Harley though. This whole damn country has been outsourced over several decades by Democrats and Republicans alike. I'm surprised there are any American bearing companies even left!
Sad, sad stuff. Our Founding Fathers would be sick to see it.

Simple old technology. Greed!
