Both the rear wheel bearings on my 2002 Explorer failed at 163,000 miles. Internet reported it as a common problem but Ford never did anything about it either. One dude even had a wheel come off while his son was driving.

I'm glad I own the 09 RK I do and can't imagine what Harley's 5 years from now are going to made like ... or where for that matter.

I don't necessarily blame Harley though. This whole damn country has been outsourced over several decades by Democrats and Republicans alike. I'm surprised there are any American bearing companies even left!

Sad, sad stuff. Our Founding Fathers would be sick to see it.

I deal with bearings on a regular basis and even bearings from "American" companies may not be made in the USA any more. Seems some of them have determined in order to stay competitive they needed to outsource the production or set-up production in China or India. They bring in the bearings and package them in their boxes. You have to actually look on the bearing to see where it was manufactured. When questioned, they will simply reply that the bearing is made to there specifications and point of origin does not matter.

I too have had 2 sets of front and one set of rear bearing replaced under warranty.

So does anybody know of a better bearing?
