For the front axle nut and the 2 pinch nuts on the right side? Haven't had a chance to get a service manual yet.........

As long as I'm asking.... how about the rear axle specs too?

I seem to have a slight wobble at higher speeds. I'm thinking it may be the back tire, but I'm not convinced just yet. The front axle nut and pinch nuts were pretty loose, but tightening them up didn't seem to help. The rear tire is rather worn, so I'm leaning towards that as a possible cause.

I also did some searching on the site and read where the fall away may be off and causing the wobble. Can someone tell me how to remove the cover on top of the nacelle to get to the stuff underneath? The screws are out beside the lock switch, but the cover doesn't seem to want to come off. I really don't want to break anything......

 

I'd check the tire pressure first for a wobble.

 

Getting the nacelle off:

Gotta pull the steering lock cover off, AND pull out the headlight from the bucket. The nacelle attaches from the inside.

That's the first thing I did. The front was good, the rear was low at about 33 pounds. Filled the rear to 40 pounds and it seemed a little better, but not completely gone.

 

if you plan on keeping the 01 roadking, you may be able to get the harley service manual, i got one but not sure the specs for my 08 would be the same as for yours. it's not cheap, but at 60 bux or so, it's money well spent. you'll be able to do lots of information in the service manual that you wouldn't otherwise attack.

 

The local stealer didn't have a manual in stock. I'll get one eventually, but in the mean time, I'll have to rely on on others helping me with the needed info.

 

front axel nut is50-55 ft-lbs,,,,,pinch nuts is 5-11 ft-lbs,,,,,,,rear axel nut 60 ft-lbs

the adjustments on the front wheel are,,,,with axel nut tight, put a 7/16 drill bit in the hole on other side of axel,, fork leg should just touch the bit, then tighten pinch bolts on axel...5-11 ft-lbs
