Default Learned a lot yesterday

I bought some 0 miles 08 Street Glide wheels and tires from another member here. The plan was to slap them right on my 08 Ultra. New wheels arrived and they were brand new as promised.

I put them on the bike and the problems began. Went back and read the book a little more and found the Ultra with ABS has a different bearing (encoder) and the bearing is thicker by about 1/8", thus my spacing problem.

Anyhow, had to put new ABS bearings (1 each) into each of the SG wheels. If the SG had ABS, the wheels would have bolted right up.

Things I am now edumacated on:
Tire changing
Brake pads that no longer squeal
Wheel spacing
ABS encoder bearings and the difference vs std bearing.
Axle shaft diameter 08 25mm vs a slightly larger 1" from previous years.

All is well now, so ask away. I think i'm ready.

What pads did you install to stop the squealing?

I tried my best to get Lyndall but no luck. Went with HD and used the permatex brake quieting stuff, can't remember the exact name but they are quiet for now.

Use the spacers from your original wheels and buy new abs bearings.
