Question Blue Ridge Parkway ride

Planning a ride on the BRP in 2 weeks from Roanoke, VA to Cherokee, NC, then on to the Dragon. Any suggestions for stops from Roanoke to Asheville? Sights and places to eat.

Anywhere except off the side of the mountains......but if you get a chance, take a ride up to Mt. Mitchell along the BRP, great viewing of the land from up there.

Thanks. Like your Heritage. Just traded an 07 just like it on a new Ultra Classic back in Feb. Wish I could have kept both.

While at the Dragon, I would definatly consider riding the "Devils Triangle" (Cant remember the route number but google it and you will see some great roads). I did the BRP and Skyline Drive from Front Royal VA to Gatlinburg TN. Some great little off shoot with some great little stores and views

Grew up in Gatlinburg so I've hit the BRP and dragon several times, as well as the skyway once or twice.

One of the best places I've stopped overnight at was the Peaks of Otter Lodge. It's been about 14 years though. When I stayed there they had no TV or radio in the rooms, and the power went off there while we were eating at the restaurant, but it must have happened all the time because they just fired up their wood stove and still served the same menu.

For good up to date info on the dragon and riding around the area, go to www.tailofthedragon.com . Lots of good info there.

I really enjoy moonshine highway run. Not much traffic at all.
