Default Cam chain tensioner upgrade problem

Hello all, bikes a 99 Road King 30k miles. I'm installing the Screaming Eagle cam plate upgrade. When plate is installed rear cam can slide in and out about 1/4 inch. Original outer bearings were both press fit bearings, front bearing was installed with numbers in and very wobbly, rear seemed ok. New bearings, front is press fit ball, and rear is two piece roller bearing, cam chain seems to be the thing that keeps cam in place. I have done searches on issue with no luck.
Thanks.

Mmm hmm. Sometimes the cam can slide out quite easily when it's just sitting there in the cam plate. Mounted in the bike, it's not coming out because of the bearing in the engine. But sitting there in the plate, the chain is indeed the only thing holding it in.

For 99-06 the outer bearings are pressed into the cam plate.
The cams are then pressed into those cam plate bearings.
There could be a little bearing side play and wobble, but the cam shouldn't just slide out of the bearing after it's been pressed in.

07 and above there are no longer any press fit bearings in the cam plate.

The rear bearing in the kit is a two piece bearing, the inner race presses onto the cam and the outer race with the rollers presses into the support plate. When front cam is being pressed into front bearing rear cam just slides into position. When rear chain sprocket is bolted on with its spacer cam will slide in and out making it impossible to check with feeler gauge for sprocket alignment.
Thanks.

I did this get last year isn't there spacer kit you need to buy in the papers. Also the 99 needs a plug that goes in one of the lower holes.

In pic right side of bag on top I think those are it.
