Windshield trim .... without using the sticky tape to secure it?
Does the adhesive tape used on the windshields metal pieces need to be used?
I have a set of "Harley Davidson" engraved metal trim pieces for the windshield on my Road King, and I'd prefer to be able to easily remove them to use on the different size (tall) windshields I use (shorter for for just putting about, and taller for touring).
These trim pieces have cushioned adhesive srtrips, with the non-stick covering that you peal off so they can stick (like the 3M stick-on stuff) along with special bolts and nuts.
Anyone know if there is there any reason/danger if I just don't remove the non-sticky cover on the adhesive strips, and use the adhesive strips as cushioning only, with just the hardware/bolts-nuts being used to mount the windshield?
