Default Sundowner or Ultra Classic seat

I'm about to head out on a last minute 1500+ mile trip and I got to thinking about my sundowner seat. I like the seat but after a while I can feel the back sides pushing in. I almost feels like its too narrow for me. I got to looking a Ultra seats and noticed they look padded but don't have the side padding in the back like the Sundowner does. Is the Ultra's seat a comfortable seat to tour on or should I stay with the Sundowner?

I originally put an ultra seat on my RKC because they seemed so comfy in the dealership. Was'nt happy even after a Mean City mod. I put a Mustang solo on mine and love it. I know a lot of guys swear by the sundowner.

If you're talking about a seat off an Ultra wouldn't do it.That's the first thing that goes with most Ultra riders, especially 08 and later. My 2010 Ultra seat lasted 3 months and went to a Sundowner and love it.Haven't had any problems on long distance. What kind of bike you ride ,I have an Ultra seat I'd sell cheap.

First purchase I made after buying my Ultra - within a few months of buying it - was a replacement seat - bought a Sundowner, have put 30,000 km (18,000 miles) on it, don't regret the change a bit.

Deep bucket Sundowner is the way to go. A buddy of mine bought the Mustang and had it for a few months when we swapped bikes to compare front braking between the two. He bought a Sundowner the next day...

+ 1. It took awhile for the Sundowner to break in or my butt to get used to it. Like mine!

I have used both the Sundowner and Ultra seats on my '08 Road Glide. I find they are equally comfortable for long distance, but I like the looks of the Sundowner better. The Ultra seat, in my opinion, is not as attractive. These pics aren't too comparative, but perhaps they will give you an idea:
