Default preventing theft ?

Looking for tips or ways to help prevent theft of bike when parked at hotels/motels.
When I lock my bike 11 SG using the ignition lock, how easy is it to defeat the lock? My bike doesn't have factory security.

Best Westerns always let you park right at the front door. They are very bike friendly. Other than that I always just ask. You do know that no lock will keep thieves away. If you have brake disk locks they just unscrew the bolts on the disks. If it is chained 4 guys can easily pick up the bike and throw it in a van. Park where it is visible and it will be safest.

Well - short of sleeping on the bike there is no guarantee that it won't fall to thieves. Just the naked truth. I use all that I have. Lock the ignition swith, the fork lock, I use a disk lock and I have the security system. Not much else I can do. I do believe that if a thief (or group of thieves) wants your bike bad enough they'll get it regardless of what you do.

Default ignition lock

Someone with a barrel lockpick can unlock Ignition lock in a few seconds.

A while back the Insurance Institute of North America state that a bike that has a cover on (1/2 or full) is less likely to be stolen.

The HD factory alarm setup is overpriced junk, in my opinion. Invest in an Aritronix paging Scorpio alarm. You'll install and maintain it yourself without trips to $30 T-shirt dealers, and before they're sitting on your bike you'll be downstairs showing them your newest firearm.
