My last wife hated the bike and the new one loves it. I actually got into the touring side because we ride 2-up so much. She wanted me to keep both bikes but I couldnt see spending that much on insurance. My wife hopped on and went for her first long ride...10 hours to switzerland and NOT one complaint. She starts to have withdrawls is she dsnt get to ride once a week. Something about a woman that wants to be on the bike that you cant replace. Makes you wonder what you did without her once you find her.

Last friday, almost exactly 3 weeks after her accident, my wife was REAL bitchy and grouchy all day.
When I finally worked up the nerve to call her on it (after insisting all day that "I'm fine!"), she admitted it's because the weather is still so nice & I have my new bike....and hers is totaled & she can't ride anyway.

She was still a PITA to be around all afternoon, but I could step back and smile about it anyway.

Great story and thanks for sharing although I got a bit worried part way through. My wife likes to ride once a while, but physically can't do real long rides. We'll do a seven day ride once a year and then I'll get her back on for a few short rides. She's good with that and although I always offer, I'm down with it also. I really enjoy her back there and don't mind riding solo at times.

I think my wife got a little "life paranoid" after we had our daughter (now, 9). Hasn't even been on the new bike (only around a month, but I put the extra-comfy seat on for her).

Funny part is that my daughter can't get enough of it...

Almost worries me...

Wife recently decided she wanted to go for a ride and has decided that she now likes riding. I love it that she wants to ride and she will make a great biker babe, but it also bothers me that I will now be responsible for someone else.

been married now for 18.5 years - I am 60 she is 62 started riding again in 96 - she was not happy but supported me. Then she wanted to go for a ride - the rest is history. This last June we finally made a goal (we have now ridden in all 50 states) This is our second time around for each of us... Her first marriage was 25 years and she was a stay at home mom - kinda like donna Reed.. She is a tough one, we have ridden in all weather except for tornados or hurricanes --- My policy is - what ever it takes to keep her happy on the back seat - I do it or buy it. One of our first rides she says, I am just too cold - Gerbings was found and she is now happy..

sounds like a lot of you have good riding partners.. I love it - it is something we both can enjoy..
