Default Tire sizes for 09 Ultra?

The Dunlop D408's on my bike have over 14K on them and I will need to replace them shortly. The sizes on it now are Front: 130/80B17 and the rear is 180/65B16. My question is, can I use a 130/70R-18 (63H) Dunlop Elite 3 Radial Touring and 180/60R-16 (80H) Dunlop Elite 3 Radial Touring Rear as replacements? I sure would appreciate any insight that you guy's can give.
Thanks much and have a great day,
Ken

Dunlop has a new Americal Elite tire to fit the new bikes. Check them out at dunlopmotorcycle.com

No. You cannot run 18 inch tires on a 17 inch rim. I hope to see the new Elites out soon. But I am satisfied with the stock tires.

Default Oops!!!

Man I goofed. I thought I selected the 17" tire when I cut it and pasted it in this thread. The tires I have now cupped real bad like the 407's are supposed to do. I keep the air checked and keep both tires at 36 PSIG all the time. Guess I should have kept 40 in the rear because it cupped as bad as the front. I checked with the dealer this morning and he gave me a price of over $600.00 for both tires and mounting them. This is extremly high to me. I put a metzler on my 03 EG and used the dyna beeds for balance and it worked out great. Of course it was a black wall instead of the thin white wall.
Thanks guy's,
Ken

Your dealer didn't offer to replace them free of charge?Because there is issues with the 09 touring tires,at least the front one..Harley had a TSB out on them.

Tire and installation prices are over the moon these days. Today I called the local dealer to ask the cost of installing a rear tire...just installation...$150.00 plus whatever "extras might be required" like balancing, etc. I asked them if pouring 2 ounces of Dynabeads into the tire would be an extra.....the service guy had never heard of Dynabeads and he asked his co-workers and he said they didn't know either....good grief.

I have the stock 408 on the front and the 407 on the rear. for the first time ever, i will be replacing them with the stock tires when they need changing. i have always replaced stock tires with some aftermarket tire but in this case i see no need to do so.

I've still got the OEM tires on my '09 Ultra Classic with 15,500 miles on them and they are the best tires I've ever had. No cupping and they have abour 4/32 tread left.

I'm for sure going back with a new set of original Dunlop D407/D408 tires.

The Dunlop American Elites are on the market. I ordered from the Motorcycle Superstore. They are the same dual compound as the stock tires but cost less not having the HD on them. Mine are in transit now should receive 10/20. I paid $283.98 with no shipping cost. That's for front and rear.
