I got A deal on a S.E. big bore kit with cams. Also bought S.E. hybrid cam plate/oil pump kit with hyd. chain adjusters. Bought a set of 26's also. I have a 05 Roadking, that I ride mostly 2 up. Which cam do you guys think would be better for my riding style. I a thinking The 26's.
I have 26's as well and really like them. I think the 26's might be better compared to the 204's, whereas the 21's would compare to the 203's. But then again, I usually have no idea what I'm talking about!
I have the Andrews 26s in my 08 RKC (96"). I recently bought an Ultra Limited with the 103". The 96" with the 26s blows the doors off the 103". Mind you, the Ultra is heavier and still stock, but it gives you an idea of the performance you can expect.
The Andrews 26 cams have an even more conservative profile than the 203s. (.490 lift, 226* duration, 20* overlap vs .510 lift, 234* duration, 35* overlap). On paper, the 203s should outperform the 26s, as long as you've got the right tune and exhaust. Either one will work well in a touring bike, both cams are good examples of taking a stock cam and adding just a little lift and overlap to achieve good gains.
