Default Road Glide vs. Street Glide

I am looking a purchasing either a RG or SG in about a month. Can anyone tell me the differencein the
RG fairing vs. the SG batwing on the highway in areas such a buffeting, turbulence, etc.? Also, with the fixed fairing on the RG, has that made much of a difference to the owners of that model at night since the headlight does not turn with the handlebars? These may seem silly but I am a newbie and trying to make the right decision and just gain as much knowledge as possible before a purchase. Thanks in advance for your help.

As PhilM would say.....ask Monstermile

There is another thread on here now addressing this very question.

Many of us think the RG is a better ride, but usually suggest you rent both and make a decision for yourself.

my 07 rg is a better handling vehicle..i have an 03 ultra as well. for real touring the ultra is a better bike.. better wind
protection at least that rg headlight issue is meaningless! to be the rg is more fun to ride.. and the 96 inch is the moco's best effort so far.

Generally I think most consider the RG to be the better bike, however you will find that resale is better for the SG.

Steering on the RG would be lighter since there's less weight to move around. but with the SG, there isn't the "shake" from crosswinds you might think i'd have. I'd think it'd pretty much be up to the style you like. I almost bought a 07 RG but didn't like the silver engine. The 08s have the blacken engine.

RG is more stretched out, feels roomier. And the headlight turns with the bike, just like your headlights turn with your car/truck.

Although I would never own a Road Glide because I do not like the appearance I will be the first to tell you that the ROAD GLIDE will out handle the street glide and any other batwing fairing because of the aerodynamics of the fairing. It just does not look very Harley like but it is a very competent machine in all categories but looks.
